P.A.L. stands for Performing Arts Lodge.

PAL Calgary is a non profit organization dedicated to providing affordable housing, care and a sense of community for older and disabled members of Calgary's performing arts industry. PAL Calgary is one of five chapters of PAL Canada, a national charitable organization established in 1986. Both PAL Toronto and PAL Vancouver have established successful residences in those cities.

PAL Calgary is focused on building a 40 unit lodge with a small theatre which has access to city transit and close to Calgary's vibrant theatre scene.

Currently, PAL Calgary has applied for and is awaiting registered charitable status from the Canada Revenue Agency and a business plan has recently been completed for PAL Calgary by the Haskayne School of Business.

Fundraising events have already taken place with the assistance of organizations such as The Auburn Saloon, The Pumphouse Theatre and The Lunchbox Theatre. PAL Calgary has the support and encouragement of ACTRA, IATSE and Equity.

Now we need YOUR support. We will soon be seeking funds and grants from federal, provincial and municipal agencies as well as the corporate and private sector so we need to show them that we have strong support from the community which will benefit from the establishment of a Performing Arts Lodge. For a minimum donation of $20 or more, you will automatically become a member of PAL Canada and the PAL Calgary chapter. Ten dollars of your donation will go to PAL Canada and the rest will remain with the Calgary chapter but more importantly your membership in the chapter will provide much needed substantiation of the desire and need from the performing arts community for affordable housing for those in need.

Please send your cheques or cash to:

PAL Calgary,
844 Lake Twintree Crescent SE
Calgary, Alberta T2J 2W3

At this time, until we receive our registered charity status, we cannot provide tax receipts

BUT A STRONG SHOW OF SUPPORT FROM OUR COMMUNITY IS ESSENTIAL and your response will be greatly appreciated.
